Radio Programme website research - 1Xra on BBC Radio 1

For this task I was asked to research on an online radio programme.  the institution which I am researching is the  BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation). The radio station is Radio 1, the programme name is 1Xtra. It is a radio show presented by Trevor Nelson, and is aired on Saturdays from 7pm until 9pm, it is basically a mix of RnB, Hip-Hop, UKG & Grime.
Trevor Nelson has been DJ-ing for a long time. he hit the big time when he started up the mad-hatter sound system, he had a very heavy DJ Schedule, including kiss FM, which he started while the station was a pirate channel, then continued working there after it was legalised. 10 years after he started at kiss FM Trevor went on to work at Radio 1. he has won the best DJ Mobo award twice over. he continues to DJ across the UK and the world, and in 2010 he won the Sony Gold Award.

The website is presented in very neutral colours, and it is very easy to negotiate your way around the site. The website is quite an adult one, and indicates is for serious music listeners.

There is a picture of Trevor Nelson to attract those who recognise the presenter and like his work. the website is trying to make us feel like we're a part of the show. We can see live media and listeners can contribute to the show and suggest songs you would like to hear.

There are lots of links on youtube showing Trevor Nelson's work, for example,  When Trevor Nelson Met Kanye West, or his Akon Interview. You Can also See him On the red carpet at the Mobo awards in 2008. on the actual Radio 1 website there areLinks to listen live, previous shows, photos, tracklists, videos and contact details. web cam, archive of things to look at, downloads of videos, and slide shows of photographs.. DJ Nelson has a Twitter Account where you can see any posts he uploads. Just by googling Trevor Nelson you can find plenty of information about him or media links.

The target audience is Adults or teenagers, and this is reflected in the design and content of the website. you can listen to any show at any time once it has been aired, and you can listen to the show on the radio or online. You can find out more about the shows and when they are on through radio announcements or the website, at
The Radio 1 Website
